Grow a Climate Resilient Garden
I volunteered at the Sustainable Enterprise Conference last Friday, and met some great folks doing events I thought you might be interested in, so I am posting them here. xoxo RLL
Join David Beazlie, BLSA, Landscape Designer, for an experiential hands-on workshop on how you can prepare your garden to thrive in the midst of climate extremes and unpredictable seasons. Why now? Now is a great time to build your soil. Living soil is the foundation of climate resiliency and a healthy garden.
Explore how climate change is affecting our gardens and learn gardening practices that will help to protect your garden including sheet mulching, vermiculture, composting, choosing plant varieties, taking care of pollinators, and seed-saving. Prepare your garden for summer.
The workshop takes place at the Beazlie Forestville home and garden. Join them Sunday, May 20th, 2012 at 10am-2pm. Bring a lunch and enjoy the garden. The four hour class is $30, if you bring a friend each pays $25. To register and get directions email jbeazlie (at) yahoo (dot) com, group size is limited.
